About
About Folded Blessings and Bill's Story
I lost both a son and a grandson in the same year. Those words are still hard to write. Some losses are so heavy that they change the way you see everything that comes after. In the middle of that sorrow, I came to understand how much a grieving heart needs a quiet place to rest, a place to pray, to remember, and to be with people who understand. Folded Blessings is that place.
Share Your Own Story on the Grief Wall
As you read the posts of others, you may find someone whose loss mirrors your own. Those connections can bring a comfort that is hard to find anywhere else.

Bill's Story
A Year No Father Should Have to Live
Losing a child is a grief that goes against the natural order of life. Losing a grandchild in the same year is more than words can hold. There were days when getting out of bed felt impossible, and nights when the quiet in the house was louder than anything I had ever heard.
Where Prayer Carried Me
When I had no strength of my own, prayer carried me. Some prayers were long. Some were only a name whispered into the dark. I learned that God does not need perfect words, only an open heart, even a broken one.
Remembering My Son and My Grandson
My son and my grandson are still a part of everything I do. Their memories are a blessing I carry with me every day, and Folded Blessings is one of the ways I keep their love alive.

Why Folded Blessings Was Created
A Peaceful Place to Share Grief
After my losses, I found that many people did not know what to say, and I did not always know how to tell them what I was feeling. I wanted a place where grieving people could speak freely and be met with prayer instead of silence.
Giving Others What I Needed
What I needed most was to know I was not alone. I created Folded Blessings so that others could find comfort and support from people who understand what they are going through, because they have been through it too.
Keeping Their Memories Alive
Every prayer shared here and every memory posted on the Grief Wall helps keep the memories of my son and grandson alive, along with the memories of everyone loved and missed by this community.

What We Hope This Space Will Be
A Safe Place to Return Anytime
Grief does not end on a certain date. My hope is that Folded Blessings will be a safe space people can come back to whenever they need to let their feelings out, whether that is the week of a loss or many years later.
Prayers Shared and Received
This is a community of prayer. You can ask for prayers here, and you can offer them. Both are a gift, and both can bring healing.
Comfort from People Who Understand
There is a special kind of comfort that comes from someone who has felt what you feel. I pray that everyone who visits finds at least one person here who understands.

Hands Folded in Prayer
Folded hands are a picture of surrender and trust. When we fold our hands to pray, we are placing what we cannot carry into God's care.
Blessings Folded into Everyday Life
The people we love are folded into every part of our lives, in our habits, our homes, our holidays, and our hearts. Their presence was a blessing, and it remains one even after they are gone.
Finding Blessings Even in Sorrow
Grief and gratitude can live side by side. Folded Blessings is a reminder that even in our deepest sorrow, there are still blessings to hold onto and still hope to be found.

A Small-Town South Carolina Beginning
Folded Blessings began in a community where neighbors still show up for one another in hard times. That spirit of care is what I hope to share with everyone who visits.
